Welcome to Matt's Music! This is where I write about albums that I really enjoy.

Red Mile

Crack Cloud

I finally got around to giving this album a listen from front to back while I was working on some of the code for this website and man it is so good. I think Crack Cloud are just some of the coldest fools doing it right now and it doesn't take much from them to impress me but that does not mean that they don't keep churning out hits. I feel like they are really coming into a cooler and cooler sound with each project they put out and it is so much fun to listen to everything they do. They manage to make music that feels classic while also feeling like a bunch of ideas I have never heard. One of those bands that make me mad as a musician cause I wish I had all of their ideas instead. I definitely need to listen to this one more but out the gate I am a big fan.

Random Access Memories

Daft Punk

Had the opportunity to give this album a full listen while I was driving to and from a friends wedding recently and man it just holds up so well. I remember this coming out when I was younger and I was already way into Daft Punk at the time and this album just absolutely slam dunking on my little tiny brain. I remember it winning the Grammy for best album and thinking how cool it was that something as good as this could do that against albums that were a lot more popular. This album is beyond timeless and probably the highest note that these dudes could go out on. It's just so much fun and so epic and theatrical and dancey and I could listen to it forever. Perfect pick for my first entry on this little weblog.
